Celebrating 10 Years of Innovation: Introducing the CSCB-Promega Innovation Fund

For the past decade, Promega has supported cutting-edge research through the CSCB-Promega Innovation Award. Now, as we mark 10 years of collaboration with the Chinese Society for Cell Biology (CSCB), the Award is being converted into the CSCB-Promega Innovation Fund.

The CSCB, founded in 1980, is one of the leading scientific organizations in China. Dedicated to fostering educational opportunities and innovation, the CSCB organizes conferences, publishes journals, promotes research collaborations, offers training for students and young scientists, and educates the general public on cell biology and biomedicine.

A Decade of Partnership

Dr. Jingsong Li

Since its establishment in 2013, the CSCB-Promega Innovation Award has become a beacon for identifying and nurturing top talent, highlighting the groundbreaking contributions of researchers in the life sciences.

This award has celebrated visionary scientists, like Dr. Jingsong Li who won the Award in 2013. He is not only a pioneer in his field but also an elected member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2022.

Converting the Innovation Award into a Fund

In 2023, the CSCB proposed converting the Innovation Award into a Fund to streamline the selection process, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure researchers receive the recognition and support they deserve. In addition, Promega will provide small incentive grants to shortlisted candidates, expanding support for applicants. This milestone reflects a shared vision of advancing life science research and supporting scientific innovation in China and beyond.

The celebration of the award’s 10th anniversary at the CSCB annual conference was a major highlight of 2023. The very first recipient, Academician Li Jinsong, and Dr. Liang Ge, one of the winners of the first CSCB-Promega Innovation Fund in 2023, attended our celebration ceremony, receiving a warm welcome to mark this milestone moment.

Looking ahead, the CSCB-Promega Innovation Fund will serve as a catalyst for transformative discoveries and breakthrough research in the field of life sciences.
