    1. The SARS-CoV-2 genome consists of a single strand of DNA that is about 30kb. By contrast the human genome is MUCH larger at 3 billion base pairs, consisting of 22 pairs of autosomes and 2 sex chromosomes, each of which contains 5 × 10^4 to 26 × 10^4 kb.
